Structural Dynamics

For Structural Analysts and Dynamists

Optimize designs and meet requirements effectively and efficiently using Nastran finite element models for insight into the dynamic behavior of a structural system.

This training starts with an overview of everything you forgot you knew about dynamics from college, the requirements review process and initial sizing with hand calcs. We then dive into dynamics in Nastran and the tactical execution of post processing Nastran data into comprehensible information. Software is supplied to facilitate these tasks.

Advanced topics such as enclosures, ESS testing, and pointing errors are covered, as well as a section on conducting dynamics testing in the real world.

We wrap up with a novel approach for mode identification, that treats a mode of vibration as a load path, allowing structures engineers to intuitively transition into the field of dynamics analysis.

Key takeaways:

– Requirements and initial sizing
– Dynamics in Nastran
– ESS and dynamics testing
– Mode identification
